After School Instructors may work with a group of up to 20 students from TK-8th grade with daily tasks consisting of, but not limited to: tutoring, homework assistance, and educational enrichment.
Instructors must have high energy, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to maintain a fun and organized atmosphere.
Essential Job Functions:
Provides tutoring and homework assistance to help students meet national standards
Collaborates with Site Coordinator to create and implement all Catalyst Expanded Learning curriculum, rules, and procedures, including new curriculum that may be introduced during the school year
Provides students with educational enrichment which may include positive youth development strategies, recreation and prevention activities, and the ability to teach positive life skills
Works collaboratively with staff members on site
Tracks students' progress using programmatic protocol
Ensures students receive consistent supervision and always provides a safe and supported environment
Tracks attendance daily
Fills out lesson planning form weekly
Maintains a high level of professionalism with students and families
Attends regular staff meetings
Supports and participates in family and site-based events
Supports other sites when needed or called upon
Communicates regularly with the Site Coordinator regarding all aspects of the program at the designated site
Undergoes and maintains all assigned health and safety, education, and HR trainings
Participates in professional development enrichment opportunities to enhance student learning
Promotes an inclusive environment of teamwork to ensure Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is practiced/applied in department operations, programs, and services
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must be able to meet school district's requirements for a Paraprofessional (based on district in which job is offered - requirements vary)
Experience:
6 or more months working with children preferred
Other Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age
Ability to solely manage a classroom of up to 20 students
College units in education, recreation, or child development strongly desired
Understanding of behavior management and effective disciplinary techniques
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized with exceptional interpersonal skills
Enthusiastic and highly motivated
Proven leadership and team-building skills
Excellent time management skills
Flexible, team oriented, child focused, and wanting to make a difference in children's lives
Ability to meet state-specific requirements: Fingerprint LIVE SCAN, CPR/First Aid, Medical Certificate/TD Test, Mandated Reporter training

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 1:30pm – 5:30pm
Compensation: $19.
